The Earl is a versatile roper boot with universal appeal. Designed to be both practical and stylish, it features a heel shorter than that of a traditional cowboy boot. The vamp is left unadorned in order to showcase the ultra-soft, hand-burnished cowhide or goat leather.
- 1 ⅛” stacked leather heel with rubber end cap
- ¾ Goodyear welt construction
- Cowhide lining
- Leather sole
- Reinforced pull straps
*Please Note: No two authentic animal hides are exactly the same. Color, texture, grain, and pattern variation can be expected from piece to piece.*
Goat
Get into a true daily driver that will age like a classic. Our bestselling material for good reason — soft goat hide is rich in natural oils that lend it a quick-to-patina quality, adding character and creases with each wear. Versatile enough for the ranch or the office, it’s one that won’t stay sitting on your rack.
Store Your Boots
- Store your boots in a dry and dark place.
- Alternate boot-wearing days to let boots properly dry out.
- Ideally, store with tissue, newspaper, or a cedar shoe tree that does not stretch the leather.
These methods above will help minimize moisture and extend the life of your boots.
How To Clean
- Brush dirt off after every wear with a horsehair brush; use a damp cloth if necessary.
- Wipe residue with a damp cloth, dry, and brush/buff.
Condition
- Check the labels on your care products carefully. Avoid any that contain alcohol, as they could damage the burnished finish.
- While boots are still damp, lightly apply conditioner over the entire boot, ideally with fingers, but you can use a brush or cloth.
- Let the conditioner dry and then buff with a horsehair brush.
- Condition 3-4 times per year (or as needed). Goat contains natural oils – take a less is more approach.
For conditioner, we suggest our Basics Care Kit or the Bickmore’s Bick 4 Conditioner.
Polish & Shine
- Polishing will leave the boots with a glossy finish. We suggest avoiding colored polishes since they can alter the color of your boots.
- After your boots have dried, apply a small amount of wax-based polish to all the areas you wish to shine.
- Let the polish dry and then brush off the boot with a soft cloth.
- Buff with a horsehair brush to the desired level of shine.
For polish, we suggest the included polish in our Basics Care Kit.
- Lincoln wax polish (neutral) and Allen Edmonds spray shine are also great options.
